Tonight, the Bulldog pony team looks for their second tournament championship of the season with a rematch against Latrobe at 8pm at Jimmy Long Field.

The Bulldogs defeated Latrobe Saturday night by a 5-4 margin. Dom started and pitched 4 solid innings yileding just a pair of runs. Nate got the next 5 outs, during which he crushed a huge 2 out inside the park grand slam home run. That hit earned Nate game MVP honors. Chase closed out the game for the Bulldogs, coming in with the bases loaded in the top of the 6th inning and mowed down all 4 Latrobe batters he faced.

Coach Joe comments:
Latrobe has a couple really good pitchers that we saw. We had guys on base early but couldn’t get them in. But the team never got frustrated, we kept putting balls in play and working some tough at bats for walks. Little things like make a big difference in tight games. Nate came up with a huge hit for us and our pitchers really did the job, along with our solid defense. Latrobe is going to come in with a chip on their shoulder but I expect that our 13 boys will all come ready to play and make the most of their opportunities.
